Zagel
AirDrop-simple sharing between iPhone, Android and Mac.
Zagel is a product by Ahmed Samy, specced, designed, built, tested and shipped end to end.
Zagel (Arabic for carrier pigeon) sends files, photos, text and links between your own devices on the same Wi-Fi, straight from the share sheet. There's no cloud, no account and no internet. Devices find each other on the local network, and the transfer goes straight from one to the other.
Pair once with a 4-digit code.
Devices discover each other over Bonjour/mDNS and talk over encrypted HTTPS on the local network. The first time, both screens show the same 4-digit code. Confirm it, and from then on that device can send without prompts. Each platform is fully native: SwiftUI with a Control Center control on iPhone, Jetpack Compose with a Quick Settings tile on Android, and a menu-bar app on Mac.
In numbers
- 3 platforms, native on each: iOS, Android, macOS
